Her Story
Seoul, Buenos Aires, the Bronx, California, and Then a Calling.
Dr. Justine J. Rhee’s journey into chiropractic care is one of faith, perseverance and a deep calling to serve others through natural healing. Born in Seoul, South Korea, raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and later in the Bronx, New York, she immigrated to the United States with her family, embracing English and American culture along the way, an experience that shaped her resilience, compassion and work ethic.
Her academic path led her to the University of California, Santa Barbara, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences with an emphasis in Cellular Biology and Molecular Science in 2002. During that time she realized conventional medicine did not fully align with her vision of health, and felt called toward a hands-on, natural approach to healing.
A personal experience with her mother, who found relief through chiropractic after months of conventional treatment, settled the question.
In 2003 she began her Doctor of Chiropractic program at Southern California University of Health Sciences, where she embraced the Gonstead Method: a system that combines scientific precision with a vitalistic philosophy. She earned her Doctor of Chiropractic degree in 2007.
Her passion led her to specialize in perinatal and pediatric chiropractic, completing advanced post-doctoral training with Dr. Cherie Goble and other recognized instructors. She founded practices in Pasadena and South Pasadena, serving families for over 15 years.
Beyond her clinics, Dr. Rhee co-founded Tanaka Chiropractic Missions, dedicating personal resources to providing care in underserved communities in Central America. In 2024, she prayerfully opened Chiro Mamas in Las Vegas, choosing to focus entirely on the pregnancy and pediatric care she had specialized in since her training: a holistic practice devoted exclusively to women and children.
Today, Dr. Rhee and her ChiroFam provide intentional, faith-led chiropractic care, supporting the health and wellness of families with compassion and expertise.
